How to develop good relationships and be popular:
1. Appreciate, but don’t flatter others: Be liberal in your hearty appreciation with good intentions and love for others. Avoid flattery, as it can hurt a person’s self-esteem.2. Become a patient listener: If you don’t interrupt and patiently listen to other’s viewpoint, it will promote friendly feelings.
3. Don’t shout: Instead of shouting and crying, gently put across your viewpoint to others.
4. Be civilized and gentle: Rude behaviour creates tense atmosphere, while gentle and sweet manner of dealing leads to friendship.
5. Don’t be vindictive: To forgive and forget is the best policy, while developing resentment and revengefulness leads to confusion and wastage of energy.
6. Avoid egotism: Egotism is a sign of weakness and insecurity. Nobody likes a person having an unduly high opinion of himself.
7. Don’t be sarcastic: If somebody has done a good thing, do encourage him instead of being sarcastic in your attitude.
8. Don’t complain: During whole of your mutual talk with others, don’t complain or talk of some drawback in him.

18. Lend with pleasure: Among friends there might be some occasions when to make ‘minor adjustments’ you may be asked to lend something. Lend a small amount of money with great pleasure.
19. Attend moments of grief and happiness: Give the people what they want. They might need your sympathy and encouragement during grief and sharing of happy moments at their especially happy occasions. Give them that and they will like you most.
